About Us

Volunteer Centre Swindon is part of a national network of Volunteering Development Agencies.  We work with individuals, groups and organisations in the voluntary sector to promote, support and develop volunteering in the community.  We are accredited members of the national body of Volunteering England and we work to quality standards and principles.  We are a registered charity no. 1078012

Our Background
We started in 1997 as a Voluntary Action Swindon project through a grant from the Make a Difference Programme and were originally known as Swindon & District Volunteer Bureau.  We became an independent charity on 9th Sept 1999.  We were awarded quality accreditation from Volunteering England in 2002 which was subsequently renewed in 2003 & 2005.  2005 also saw the re-brand to Volunteer Centre Swindon take place and in 2009, we celebrated our 10th anniversary.
